| Outfront's new 9 inch monolithic
design is a ground up new concept for motors using VW>Subaru adapter plate.
Our 9" flywheel is superior to other flywheels that adapt a Subaru mount
welded onto a VW flywheel. Features include:
1. Uses sealed bearing for transaxle input shaft
support. The shaft doesn't touch the bearings like a VW style setup.
2. Hardened starter gear to last long.
3. Weighs about 3lbs less than a standard 2pc welded flywheel.
4. Uses the larger Porsche style pressure plate. |

it's monolithic construction, no welding on the back side.
The Outfront 9" flywheel will handle any HP that a Subaru
motor can dish out. Generally speaking, when used with our 6 puck 9"
clutch disc, a 9" STAGE II pressure plate will handle up to 450HP.
Above 450HP requires a STAGE III pressure plate and a healthy leg.
Outfront does not sell a traditional 2pc flywheel in the 9"
size, we only offer our monolithic flywheel. This is because the
price is the same. Since the 2pc welded unit is heavier, has a bearing of
lesser quality, and the starter gear isn't hardened, there is no demand for the older
style welded flywheels. |
