John is also the 2008 EPO Sand Challenge champion, beating all the others in his R6 Subaru powered Funco Gen4 by more than 4 seconds. In a 2 lap closed loop race through the dunes, a full 4 second advantage is practically an eternity. You could say that John was "IN THE ZONE" that day and all cylinders were cookin!
